NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Athletics Program added another NCAA Division I Power Five transfer to the roster when Kameron Jones signed Power Louisville with the UN from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), made official by the director Brian Johnson On Monday.

Jones has competed indoor and outdoor with the Cardinals for three seasons and will be eligible to play with the Privateers for two years. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, will play a strong role in the Southland Conference through the 60H, 400, 400H, and with the 4×400 relay group.

“I’m very excited to add Kameron to the men’s sprint group,” said Johnson. “He adds another quality sprinter to our team. He will definitely be the strength we need to have a good 4 × 400 meter team of men that will help us win the team title.”

Jones just finished his 2021 season with 14th place in the 400H at the ACC Outdoor Championships. That followed his 35th place in the 400 at the conference’s indoor championship meeting.

He’s also seen success in the 4×400 on the biggest stage, helping his team to eighth place at the ACC Indoor Championships and ninth place at the 2019 Outdoor Championships.

Before joining Louisville, Jones was a prominent figure at Dutchtown High School. He won the state title in the 110H and also finished second in the 300H. In keeping with the individual success, he helped lead the Bulldogs to the Georgia 5A State Championships. Jones was also selected to compete in the prestigious New Balance Outdoor Nationals as a prep athlete.

Jones will compete in New Orleans with college personal bests of 53.75 in the 400H, 48.88 in the 400, and 8.34 in the 60H.
