Miltiadis Tentoglou was not at his best in the opening laps and even missed a few tries, but on lap six he made the 8.41-meter jump, enough to put the Cuban star in second place.

The Greek athlete and Echevarria were head to head, with both doing 8.41 meters (27.59 feet) as their best performances. Tentoglou came 1st and took gold for his second best jump of 8.15 meters, which put Echevarria’s 8.09 meters in the shade.

Maykel Masso, who was injured in the first laps, took bronze on the second attempt with 8.21 meters.

“What an incredible competition. What an incredible jump, the last jump, ”said Tentoglou after the final. “In the end I managed to pull something out to get the medal.”

Miltiadis Tentoglou had previously won gold again at the 2018 European Championships, while he holds a personal best of 8.60 meters (28.21 feet) in the men’s long jump.

The Greek water polo team made history despite losing 10-13 to Serbia, winning their first Olympic silver medal in the final of the Tokyo Olympics.

Greece fought bravely throughout the game. Although he lost 4-7 in the second quarter, he managed to keep up with the Serbs and achieve a 7-7 result.

However, the Serbian team proved to be much more determined and achieved the ultimate goal of scooping another Olympic gold.
